How we check listings
Every listing is reviewed by a person before it goes live. Here's what each label means.
Every listing
Before a listing goes live, our team looks at the photos and details and turns down anything that breaks our listing rules.
Owner listed
Owner listed The owner listed the place with their own photos. We checked their ID card against the name and number on the listing. We haven't checked who owns the place.
Verified
Verified We have also seen the ownership papers, or the owner's written permission for the person listing it, and the payment came from an account in the same name. Owners ask for this check for MVR 50, and the badge stays while the listing is with us. Places our own team visited and photographed are Verified too.
What we don't check
We don't inspect the condition of every place or check that it's still available on the day you call. That's why viewing in person matters.
Staying safe
- See the place and meet the owner before you pay anything.
- For a home, an advance or deposit is capped at 2 months' rent under the Tenancy Act.
- Get a written agreement and a receipt for every payment.
- If someone asks for money before you've seen the place, stop and report the listing.
